Thank you for testing 🧡

Get paid for work — the Workboku Pro app

You're testing Workboku as an expert / freelancer. This guide covers the whole journey: find a job near you, send a quote, accept an assignment, deliver the work, and get paid out of escrow. It runs on the separate Workboku Pro app. No real money changes hands — payments are in test mode.

🛠️ Workboku Pro app📍 Needs location on💰 You receive money (escrow)
★

Before you start

  • The team will send you an install link for Workboku Pro (Google Play internal testing, TestFlight, or a direct build link). This is a different app from the customer app.
  • Give us the email / Google account you'll install and register with, so we can allow-list you.
  • You'll need to allow location and, later, photo access — the app uses them to show nearby jobs and to upload your work and ID.
  • To actually receive job offers you must pass a quick identity check (KYC) — an admin reviews it, so allow a little time (see step 4).
⚠️

A fresh account looks empty — no jobs, no earnings, no notifications. That's normal. Offers only appear once you're verified and the team has seeded a matching test project near your location. If you see nothing, tell us — don't assume it's broken.

1

Install Workboku Pro

There isn't a public store link yet — the team distributes the Pro app privately. To get in:

  1. Send your install email to the team (or reply to the invite you received).
  2. Open the link we send on your phone and install Workboku Pro (icon says “Pro”).
  3. Open the app — you'll land on the Sign In screen.
ℹ️

Need access? Email support@workboku.com with the phone platform (Android / iPhone) and the email you'll use.

2

Create an expert account

On the Sign In screen tap Create Account. The form header reads “Join Workboku Pro — get paid jobs from customers near you.” Fill in:

  • First name & last name
  • Email & phone number
  • Professional title (e.g. “Plumber”, “Electrician”, “Frontend Developer”)
  • Bio — at least 50 characters (the form rejects anything shorter)
  • Project rate in ₦
  • At least one primary skill (use the searchable picker)
  • Password & confirm password (must match)
  • Tick “I agree to the Terms”, then tap Create Freelancer Account
💡

Location, experience, languages, and portfolio links are optional. If the form won't submit, it scrolls to the first problem — usually a bio under 50 characters, no skill selected, the Terms box unticked, or passwords that don't match.

3

Verify your email

If asked, enter the 6-digit code sent to your email (check spam). It submits automatically; use Resend after the 60-second timer if needed.

🚫

Do NOT tap “Skip OTP Verification”. It's a temporary developer button that can crash the app or leave you in a broken session. Always use the real code.

4

Verify your identity (KYC) — this unlocks jobs

Until you're verified, you'll see a yellow banner “Finish verification to start receiving jobs” and you won't get offers. Go to Profile → Verification and upload:

  • ID document — NIN, driver's licence, or passport
  • Skills proof — a certificate or trade/guild ID
  • Work sample — a photo of your work
ℹ️

Statuses go Not submitted → Under review → Approved (or “Needs re-upload”). A person reviews this manually, so it isn't instant. Tell us if the upload fails or a status looks stuck.

5

Get oriented

The expert app has four tabs at the bottom:

  • Find Work — jobs near you, ready to quote
  • My Work — offers and jobs you've taken
  • Earnings — your balance, escrow and payouts
  • Profile — services, verification, payout methods, settings

On Find Work you'll also see your earning-cadre card, a preview of recent work, and an onboarding checklist (“Start receiving job requests”).

6

Find work & send a quote

  1. Open Find Work and allow location — the feed shows jobs near you. If you deny location, it's empty with a “needs your location” message and a Try again button.
  2. Filter by category using the chips along the top.
  3. Tap a job to open its detail, then send a priced proposal via New quote — add line items (or snap a written estimate) and send. A quote moves Draft → Sent → Approved → Funded.
✅

Tell us: were nearby jobs relevant? Was building and sending a quote clear?

7

Accept an assignment

When a customer or PM offers you a job, it shows up in My Work as a Pending card (with inline Accept / Decline), and in the Assignment detail as an offer card “You've been offered this job”. To accept:

  1. Set Your price (₦) and estimated time (days), and optionally a note to the customer.
  2. Tap Accept job (or Decline — it asks you to confirm).
🔒

The moment you accept, your current cadre's fee is locked onto that job (see step 10). Accepting is a commitment — worth telling us if anything about the price or terms is unclear.

8

Deliver the work

Open the job in Assignment detail. You'll see a progress bar, the brief, “You earn ₦…”, and a money panel showing Released to you vs Held in escrow. For each milestone:

  1. Read the acceptance checklist under “To get this approved:”
  2. Tap Add file or link → the “Submit your work” sheet: add a Title, attach a photo/file, or paste a link (Drive / Figma / GitHub), add a note.
  3. Tap Submit for approval. If the reviewer asks for changes, reply inline and Resubmit for approval.
ℹ️

Attaching a photo needs photo/media permission — allow it when prompted.

9

Get paid & withdraw

You're paid per milestone, the moment the customer or PM approves it — money isn't released just because you submitted. Approved funds move from escrow into your wallet.

  1. Open the Earnings tab to see Available balance and held in escrow / pending payout.
  2. Tap Withdraw to bank, enter an amount, and submit. Withdrawals show as Requested → Approved → Paid.
⚠️

Withdrawing needs an approved payout bank account. If you haven't added one, Earnings shows “Add your bank account” (or “under review” / “rejected”) and the Withdraw button stays disabled — add it under Profile → Payout methods first.

10

Earning cadres (your fee tier)

Your cadre is a loyalty tier that decides how much of each job you keep. There are four: Starter → Rising → Pro → Elite. The higher your cadre, the bigger your “keep %” (the smaller Workboku's fee). Open it from the card on Find Work → “Your earning cadre”.

  • Each tier lists what's needed to reach the next one — jobs completed, total earnings (₦), and average rating (★) — each with a progress bar. Meet all of them to move up.
  • You move up automatically, one tier at a time.
  • Your cadre's fee is locked onto a job when you accept it, so later changes don't affect jobs already underway.
  • If your average rating drops below your tier's floor you're at risk of a downgrade; fall too low and the account gets flagged (“Your account needs attention”).
✅

Tell us if the tier maths, progress bars, and “keep %” are easy to understand — this screen is new.

Known issues — no need to report these

  • A fresh account is empty until you're KYC-approved and a matching job is seeded near you — no offers before then is expected.
  • Withdrawals are blocked until your payout bank account is approved.
  • Escrow / amount figures on old test projects can look off — we recently fixed several escrow bugs; report only new oddities.
  • The “Skip OTP” button is a known temporary shortcut — don't use it.
  • Push notifications may not arrive on Expo Go or simulators — a real build is needed.
